Currently, I am…

Reading nothing! Unless you can count blogs. BUT! To redeem myself, I do have the book “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” by the one and only Bloggess and a large stack of magazines waiting for me. I hope to get to them someday soon.

Watching Gossip Girl on Netflix. Right this moment I’m on the second to last episode in Season 5. Chuck Bass’ dad has come back to life. I’d say I’m surprised but weirder things have happened. I will admit I’m pretty sad the last season is airing right now. I guess it is true what they say…all good things must come to an end. Trav and I are also trying to get through Nip/Tuck.

Thinking About all the things I need to accomplish this weekend! I’m pretty excited we get to have a weekend at home, no company, and a list of projects. Some fun, some not-so-fun. Fun = putting together furniture/decorating. Not fun = chores. However, I miss my nephew like crazy. We got to have him, my mom, brother and sister at our house all weekend. They live 6 hours away so I don’t get to be a spoiling Aunt often enough. He really was the Cutest Spud in Idaho all weekend long.

Loving peanut butter. This is nothing new. Oh, and Blogilates. If you’re looking for a new, fun way to workout at home, check her out. Girl means biznass.

Looking Forward To posting my recaps of The Dirty Dash and The Tough Mudder. Dash = fun, Mudder = holy crazy intense did I really just get shocked with 10,000 volts and jump in ice water fun.
Wondering how the heck I survived, but I’m sure not wondering if I’d ever do it again. Heck to the no probably not. However, I highly recommend doing it. I’ve never been more physically proud of myself.

Cooking/Baking yumminess! I made this pumpkin ravioli the other night and it was so good! Using won tons as pasta is genius. And delicious. And easy. I plan on baking some healthy-ish pumpkin cookies this weekend, too. I love pumpkin everything. Duh.

Disliking that it is already almost November. Put the Christmas lights away, people! Can’t we just enjoy this lovely fall weather and money in the bank for a little while longer!?

Making Me Happy – Having a home to welcome friends and family into, corn mazes, carving pumpkins and a handsome love to share every little adventure with. Even when he gets sick of pictures.

A Colorado Wedding

What a wonderful Labor Day weekend! The long weekends seem to always go by so fast! I hope everyone had a great one full of adventure, fun and shared with the ones most special to you! I know I sure did. It was also mostly drinking and eating. Yay for Colorado beers!! For this post, I’m going to let the pictures do most of the talking. You’ll be seeing photos from my Aunt’s rehearsal dinner and her wedding. The wedding was very simple and gorgeous, so mostly you’ll just be seeing my beautiful family with the beautiful background. Tomorrow I’ll be back with pictures from our drive on the ‘Peak to Peak Highway’ in our mid-life crisis car convertible rental car.

These are just the photos I was able to snap. The professional took more of the detail pictures which hopefully I will be able to share soon! The Bride had fresh flowers that we put together the afternoon of the wedding. It was so worth the savings and a lot of fun! It was a small wedding of mostly family and a few close friends. It was such a special weekend and I couldn't be more happy for Eileen and Brian. She is like a big sister to me! I hope you guys enjoyed the photos!

Friday's Letters: Heavy Heart

I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious. by millicent

Oh Michael Scott, how I miss you! I love this quote of his.

I have a heavy heart for today's letters. Today's post is going to be a little different than most, as it is a little more gloomy than usual. I wasn't going to write about this at first, but I think it will help me get through the day to write out some feelings I'm having.

First, a little back-story before I dive into my letter:
I lost my Dad on this day, exactly 5 years ago. It was a Friday and it was the 13th. 7/13/2007. The unluckiest day in all the land. I was far from home. It was a car accident. He was the passenger. The driver had been drinking. He was 41. Too young for his adventure to end. Too many things I never got to say.

Typical Daddio. Crazy, full of energy and the life of the party.
Dear Dad, thanks for showing me that you're never too old to have fun and live like there won't be a tomorrow. Even though you let me down once or twice, your hugs and smile made it easy to forgive you. Thanks for all of the adventures in all the different places you lived. I have so many memories that I'll treasure always. You were the best daddio a girl could ask for and you were taken away too soon. You didn't get to walk me down the aisle. You didn't get to meet your Grandson. I know you're watching over us though, wishing you could join in our shenanigans. You were the handsomest guy I knew, and no, this picture doesn't do you justice! =) I hope you know how much I love you and miss you and think about you every day. Dear Husband, I know I've told you this before, but it hurts my heart that you never got to meet him. He would love you and be so happy and proud that I found you. Dear anyone who reads this, go hug your loved ones that are close to you and call the ones that aren't. Make sure they know you're thinking about them and how you feel. Waiting for tomorrow might be too late. Everyone's adventure is different and you never know how they're going to end. Oh, and don't drink and drive. That's just dumb.

Thanks so much for reading! I promise I'll be back next week with happiness! I hope your weekend is full of love, laughter and adventure!

xo, Jess
