Friday's Letters

Dear Jamaica, remember when Trav and I had only been dating a few months and we booked an all-inclusive trip to you? Best spontaneous decision ever. In March it will be 3 years ago. Next dream on the list: Barbados. Dear Brown Eyed Cats, I'm expecting an amazing show tomorrow night. I know you'll make it worth dressing up in go-go girl gear! I can't promise I won't be oogling the bass player all night, though. Dear multiple inches of snow, yay for you! You make winters in Idaho totally worth it. I can't wait to make more snow memories this year. Dear death hill behind our house, I will conquer you. Maybe. After much consumption of wine. Dear falafel, I love you. Dear Tone It Up girls and Blogilates, I love you more. So do my bum cheeks and abs and legs and mind. Thanks for the motivation. Dear husband, I happen to love sharing a workout room with you, especially when I can show you up sometimes ;). Dear blog, I'm working on making you pretty, all by myself. Little changes here and there are where it's at. Mostly because I have no idea what I'm doing. Dear Google, you are my hero. Said everyone that ever lived. Dear peeps, thanks for stopping by and commenting and all that lovey stuff. It's fun for me. I love reading blogs but I'm a terrible commenter. If you read mine, just know I read every single blog post of yours. Must. Read. All. The. Blogs. Have a great weekend! Can't wait to hear about all the adventures you're having!

Friday's Letters

Dear Christmas, you are less than 2 weeks away! Yikes! Shopping may kill me. Dear Montana [my] family, we'll be seeing you all in one week from tomorrow, which makes me panic even more! Why must I wait until the last minute to shop, why!? Dear self, you'll never learn. Dear iMac, we love you even though we know nothing about you. Isn't that what high school love is? Soon it'll be like we're married though, and we won't know what we did without you. Dear Basement and Bar, thank you for being amazingly cozy and stocked with deliciousness. Dear Husband, I'm so proud of you and thankful for everything you do. I can't wait to give you your Christmas present. Hint: It's a gift that just keeps on giving! Dear Idaho weather, still no snow. Don't you dare decide to hold out and decide to blizzard next weekend when we have to travel. Pretty please! I'll take some white fluffies between now and then, though! Dear Riley, you have the shiniest teefers I ever did see. Sorry about that. p.s. Still no brother or sister for you. Santa?? Dear everyone, I hope you have a great weekend full of last minute shopping, baking, rest and adventure!

Friday's Letters

Photo from my instagram. Christmas lights look pretty with city lights.

Dear Idaho weather, SNOW already! I would like to sled down my hill and lace up my snowboarding boots and watch snowflakes fall and just have a white winter. Easy peasy, me thinks. I would love to see snow atop those trees out of those windows up there. Dear self, you best be getting some shopping done here soon. Christmas is seriously right around the corner! Dear Santa, I've been very nice this year. Pinky promise. Dear Husband, I can't wait to make the office pretty in time for our fancy new iMac to arrive! I can't believe we bit the bullet and bought that amazingness. Merry Christmas to us! Dear Dad, tomorrow would be your 47th birthday. I plan on celebrating just the way we would if you were still here. I miss you to pieces. Dear blog, three posts in one week? Whoa! It's almost a miracle. Dear Husband, I still can't believe you'd rather have a kid over a puppy or kitty. Even though it melts my heart a little, not yet. ;] Dear friends, I hope you have a wonderful weekend full of adventure, winter-y drinks and ugly sweaters.

Letters on a Friday. Again.

Woo! It's Friday so that means it is time for letters. Hooray for the second best day of the week!

Dear Twilight, aaagghh! I'm so excited to see you this weekend. It's bittersweet, though, since it's the end. Definitely not as sad as the end of Harry, though. #imanerd Dear Boise State Broncos, you best be giving us a good show this weekend! I see trouble in our future. Tailgating, football games, after game celebrating (hopefully), dinner downtown Boise, mucho vino, and Twilight. Wowza. Dear Sara (bestie), I can't wait to visit you and cause all sorts of shenanigans. I kinda really love that you're so close in Boise. Dear Travis, thanks for wandering around the mall last night looking for last minute Boise garb. You're so patient and awesome. #ihateshopping Dear Thanksgiving, you're welcome for not leaving you in the dust already. Stop the Christmas music, people! Give Thanksgiving a chance! I can't wait to eat too much and play games with the family.  Dear Blog, I'm excited to try my hand at giving you a makeover very, very soon. Please cooperate. Dear Readers, thanks for sticking around my usually lack of a blog. I know I say this a lot, but I promise I'll be more exciting soon. Oh, and check out the pretties on the right hand side. You won't be disappointed. Have a fantastic weekend! It better be full of adventure. I know mine will be!

I'm linking up with Ashley. She rocks. So do you. The end.

Friday's Letters

The first snowy view out our window this morning. Instagram=@jstjessontheloop

Dear Fall, you did not last nearly long enough. Why do Spring and Fall, my favorite seasons, have to be the shortest in Idaho?! Dear Winter, I do love your fluffy white flakes but why must you last 6 months? Dear Garage, I'm so happy to have you. No more starting the car early, scraping ice off and cursing at the foggy windows. Dear Husband, I think you're happier than me to have a garage because we both know you'd be the one doing those things I just mentioned. Because you, sir, are the best. Dear Wal-Mart, thank you for supplying me with the teeny-bopper ghost shirt I'm sporting today. Even though I got it, like, 5 years ago, it'll always be in fashion. Even if that is only once a year. Dear Blog, I should probably change you to a fashion blog. Not. Dear Weekend, per usual, I am soo happy you're here! Hooray for projects and warm cocktails and crock-pot meals! Dear Readers, like I normally say, go have a weekend full of adventure, even if that adventure means sleeping in and rocking pj's until Monday morning!

Another Friday, Another Letter

DSC00187
Dear Greece, I can’t wait to go back to you and find cute dogs watching the sunset. And lay on the beach. And eat the food. And bask in the beauty of everything. Dear Guard Drill, second to last one! Whoo! Dear military discount, oh how I will miss you. Dear Tough Mudder, please don’t hurt me. I’m not even a little nervous to take an ice bath, run 12 miles, or run through 10,000 volts of electricity. Nope, not even a little. Dear self, don’t even try to kid yourself. Can you say terrified?! Don’t forget you paid to put yourself through that torture. Dear fall weather, I heart you and your crisp mornings and sunny afternoons. Please tell Mr. Winter to take his sweet time. Dear everyone that reads, you rock my socks and I hope all your weekends are full of fun, adventure and a whole lot of pumpkin!

Friday's Letters

Friday kinda snuck up on me this week...
...but yay for the freakin' weekend!

Dear Park City, I can't wait to spend the weekend with you for our Anniversary trip! Yay for Alpine Coasters and Slides, breweries, fall colors in the mountains and time with my favorite person ever. Dear The Big Ass Show, holy moly we're excited for you tomorrow! Neon Trees, The Used, Grouplove, Awolnation, Imagine Dragons, Eve 6, The Wombats, Dead Sara, and more! All in one place! I. Love. Live. Music. Dear Grecian Key, I'm still bitter. Dear Husband, thanks for being so handy and helpful! The guest bedroom is so cute and our yard is slowly coming along! It is now no longer only dirt. There's rock too! ;) You're the best! Dear Football, I haven't got to watch one game yet. This makes me sad. Although maybe it is a good thing I missed out on the temporary refs. I'd hate to embarrass myself like everyone else crying over a football game. Pretty sure there are more important things to voice out about. Dear everyone invited to our housewarming party next weekend, I apologize in advance for having no idea how to plan a party. I hope you'll drink lots of booze so it seems way funner more fun. Dear everyone, I hope your weekend is full of adventure and may your socks be rocked off. I know mine will be!

Dear September, I love your crisp mornings and cool evenings and changing leaves! Dear Labor Day, I'm wearing white skinnies today, mwahahaha! Take that, fashion peeps. Dear Husband, you are amazing! Our yard is going to be great and you are working so hard! You are the most handsomest Bobcat operator I ever did see! Oh, and Happy Anniversary Month! Friday's Letters to my Favorite Things

Boulder, CO
So perty. Boulder, Colorado. via
Dear PBJ Band, I'm so excited for your little gig tomorrow. I love watching my husband sing and play music. It's one of my favorite things about him. Dear Colorado, I can't wait to visit you next weekend. I'm so happy for my Aunt AKA pretty much big sister to finally tie the shot. Eileen is one of my favorite people and Boulder is one of my favorite cities! Dear Birthday, you are next week and I'm so excited for us to meet again. Until the day I got married, you were my favorite day of the year. You're still pretty close though. Dear 26 years old, let's make you my favorite age, since I do that every year. It just keeps getting better and better. Dear Riley, you are my favorite dog but that doesn't mean I don't want another one. I'm so dog desperate hungry. Dear Nip/Tuck, holy crazy, batman. Even the husband is addicted to you right now and there's no doubt that you are our favorite guilty pleasure right now. Thank you, NetFlix, for turning us into piles of zero productivity.

Pretty please, husband?? via
I'm getting a little crazy today and linking up to TWO of my favorite bloggers, Ashley and Lindsey. Did you hear The Bargain Blonde is moving to Vegas?! So excited for her new adventure and that we get to hear all about it!

I hope you guys have a fantastic weekend full of adventure and maybe a little nonsense.

Friday's Letters!

My Nephew. Two superheroes in one!!
Dear shiny red Monte, it's been real and you were the best little car a girl could ask for, but it's time for an upgrade! Car shopping here I come! Dear stuff taking over our garage, I cannot wait to get rid of you this weekend and maybe make a buck or two. Dear buck or two, I shall spend you on this, or this, or this. Dear Husband, don't read the end of that last sentence.  Or do. It is almost my Birthday month!! Dear Invisibility, if I could have any super power, it would be you! Dear Parade of Homes, you are only a few weeks away and our house is still in moving-in mode. Yikes. Dear money tree, please grow. Preferably in my backyard. I almost have hubs convinced we need an infinity pool ;). Dear house, you're slowly but surely coming together and I can't wait to reveal you! Dear weekend, here we meet again. Stop playing with my heart and moving so fast. Take it slow for me, at least once in awhile. Pretty please?!

Adventure is out there, and I hope you find it!
Have a lovely weekend!

Friday's Letters: Heavy Heart

I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious. by millicent
via

Oh Michael Scott, how I miss you! I love this quote of his.

I have a heavy heart for today's letters. Today's post is going to be a little different than most, as it is a little more gloomy than usual. I wasn't going to write about this at first, but I think it will help me get through the day to write out some feelings I'm having.

First, a little back-story before I dive into my letter:
I lost my Dad on this day, exactly 5 years ago. It was a Friday and it was the 13th. 7/13/2007. The unluckiest day in all the land. I was far from home. It was a car accident. He was the passenger. The driver had been drinking. He was 41. Too young for his adventure to end. Too many things I never got to say.

Typical Daddio. Crazy, full of energy and the life of the party.
Dear Dad, thanks for showing me that you're never too old to have fun and live like there won't be a tomorrow. Even though you let me down once or twice, your hugs and smile made it easy to forgive you. Thanks for all of the adventures in all the different places you lived. I have so many memories that I'll treasure always. You were the best daddio a girl could ask for and you were taken away too soon. You didn't get to walk me down the aisle. You didn't get to meet your Grandson. I know you're watching over us though, wishing you could join in our shenanigans. You were the handsomest guy I knew, and no, this picture doesn't do you justice! =) I hope you know how much I love you and miss you and think about you every day. Dear Husband, I know I've told you this before, but it hurts my heart that you never got to meet him. He would love you and be so happy and proud that I found you. Dear anyone who reads this, go hug your loved ones that are close to you and call the ones that aren't. Make sure they know you're thinking about them and how you feel. Waiting for tomorrow might be too late. Everyone's adventure is different and you never know how they're going to end. Oh, and don't drink and drive. That's just dumb.

Thanks so much for reading! I promise I'll be back next week with happiness! I hope your weekend is full of love, laughter and adventure!

xo, Jess

Friday's Letters

Hellloooo Friday!

every little thing is gonna be alright :-)
Via

Dear work week, thank you for going so fast. Dear weekend, let's do the opposite, mmmmkay? Dear Daddio, I miss you. You'd think each Father's Day would get easier. Nope. Nope, it sure doesn't. Dear Grandpas and Father-in-Law, I love you all and am so lucky to have such wonderful guys in my life! I'd be lost without you all! Dear Cable, it's a good thing we don't have you. I'd get nothing done. Oh wait...I don't need cable to accomplish that one. Dear Softball Season, thank you for being here! Especially on the nights we win. I dig it. Dear fancy Nikon camera sitting in the case, I can't wait to become best of friends. Dear Pilates, You. Are. Amazing. and I love you. Dear New Dream Car, stop being so expensive. I want you. Or just runaway and come find me. That would work, too.

Hope your weekends are full of adventure!

Friday's Letters

Dear Friday, thank you for finally getting here! Not having a weekend for 12 days really wears a girl out! Dear MT Air National Guard, you only have me for 5 more months! Take that! It has been a wonderful experience but I'm counting down the drills for sure. Dear life, you feel like my instagram picture above. Beautiful and full of life, but stormy, off balance and a little out of focus. I can't wait to be back to normal. Dear bed that's in storage, we miss you and can't wait to lay on your pillowtoppy (yes, that's a word) wonderfulness. Dear Riley, thanks for being the best dog companion on the lovely 6 hour monthly drive. You really are the best darg. Dear Husband, I miss you. Let's quit being so busy. I need us time like crazy! Dear old house, just go away already! Dear new house, you are so worth the wait! Less than 2 weeks, maybe! Yayyy! Dear self, just breathe...and keep counting down to that glass bottle of wine tonight.

Happy weekend. I hope it's full of adventure!

My First Friday's Letters

One of my favorite blogs to read is written by the lovely Ashley over at Adventures of Newlyweds. She takes beautiful pictures and I love reading about all of her adventures with her little family. She hosts a fun link-up every Friday and I'm excited to start taking part in it! It will just add to the randomness of posts that will be around here when I finally have some time to start blogging more often!

Photobucket

Dear Idaho weather, thank you for being so beautiful up until Memorial Day weekend. Come back, 80 degrees! Dear Riley, you are the best dog and I'm sorry you have to live in the barn for now. You will be back to being spoiled and leaving your hair everywhere soon! Dear Husband, you are the best for putting up with my shenanigans and I love you to pieces. Dear new house, only a few more weeks and you will be ours! Dear creativity, please come find me when we are in the new home so I can have awesomeness to share on this blog! Dear blog, I can't wait to be able to spend more time on you when life slows down a little! Dear Chia Seeds, I am so glad I finally tried you! I may start sprouting green hairs soon! Dear Softball Team Competition, I love when the boys scoot in when I'm up to bat. Makes me feel like Babe Ruth when I hit it over your head and run home. Don't underestimate women, misters! Dear Work, thank you thank you thank you for another three day weekend! Most importantly, thank you to those who have lost their lives fighting for our nation!

I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend full of adventure and memories! Summer is near!
